At the center of Aya Nitzan's exhibition stands the video work "Erase Everything." It features a dialogue between the artist and her father, an 86-year-old agriculturist, which went on over the past three years. The father, a member of Israel's founding generation, had fought in Israel's wars as a sniper in the paratrooper corps, a powerful man embodying the new Israeli. Nitzan tries to open a crack in the family's multi-generational conspiracy of silence, using her father's experiences as a sniper as her starting point, but the conversation creates a new channel of communication. The questions the daughter directs at her father about his feelings generate a transformation that
illuminates the gaps between the internal and the social order.
